Description

The CD of the Pay List and Muster of the Royal Bucks or King’s Own Regiment of Militia 1831 contains the names of over 500 men who were serving with the Regiment between 4th to 31st October 1831 who were mustered at Buckingham. As a pay list, it details the name, rank, parish of residence and, if acting as a substitute, the parish for which the man was serving. It lists the number of days for which payment was made, the rate per day, the number of days billeted on innkeepers etc. in stationary quarters and the days on the march. The document also details the allowances paid to men while on the march to join the regiment and returning to the place of residence or the parish for which enrolled.

The CD contains a PDF file (requires free Adobe Acrobat Reader - on CD) and will normally run automatically when the CD is inserted

The publication is in two sections. An alphabetical name list by rank with, in the cases of the corporals and privates, the parish of residence and the parish for which serving;. The second alphabetical list is by parish of residence
